Tourism Club

The Tourism Club, founded in 2002, aims at the creation of proper awareness about tourism among the youth. The objectives of the Club are the generation of public attention towards tourism, creation of awareness about the socio-economic relevance of tourism, encouragement of travel mentality, promotion of national integration and the identification of potential tourism spots in Thrissur District.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

World Tourism Day

A meeting has been convened by the TourismClub of St. Thomas College,Thrissur @10.30 am on 21th September 2017 to discuss how to celebrate the World Tourism Day Celebrations 2017. Shri Aji C.V (Department of Chemistry) , Joint Convenor of Tourism Club, and Shri Jophy T.J, Faculty Member of the college addressed the gathering. Club Day

On 18^th October 2017 the students Tourism club gathered discuss on the programmes of Tourism Club Day. As part of the celebration we discussed to conduct a Club Day Programme on November 11.

Club initiated the students to seed a plant at their house and take care of the plant for a year at their house. This initiative is to inculcate the behaviour of respecting and protecting the nature.

Seminar on Developing Tourism

Tourism Club of St. Thomas College was organized a seminar on Developing Tourism on 17 th July 2018 at 1.30 pm. Shri Arun Balakrishnan (Assistant Professor, Christ College, Irinjalakuda, addressed the gathering. Students of St. Thomas College Thrissur attended the seminar.

Centenary Exhibition

Tourism Club of St. Thomas College was participated in centenary exhibition of College on August 2018. The members of Tourism Club organized this exhibition in association with Paramekkavu Devasam Board.

Film Audition of Children’s in Association with Kochu TV.

Tourism Club of St. Thomas College was organized a Film of Audition (Malayalam Film Gambler) on May 2019. The Programme was inaugurated by Shri. Tom Ematty, Malayalam Film Director.
