Aims of NCC:
- To develop the qualities like Comradeship, Discipline, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, Sportsmanship, and Ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.
- To create a human resource of Organized, Trained, and Motivated youth capable of providing leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.
- To provide a suitable environment that motivates the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

The N.C.C. Unit of St. Thomas’ College, is the 1st Company under the 23 (K) Battalion of Thrissur. It was started in the year 1958. The total strength of the company is 108 Cadets. This Unit has secured the Kerala State Education Minister’s Award for being the Best College NCC Unit in the Kerala and Lakshadweep Directorate. The motto of N.C.C. is Unity and Discipline. Many of the N.C.C cadets of this Company have participated in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi and in various National and Regional camps. Some of them have secured the best cadets award. Only those students with 75 % of attendance for every year will be allowed to participate in the Camps and other activities of the NCC. The benefits for the same as per the University rules regarding NCC cadets will be given only to such students.

Certificate Exam
The evaluation of NCC cadets is achieved through practical and theoretical examinations. NCC conducts the following two certificate examinations:
- B certificate exam for the second year cadets.
- C certificate exam for the third year cadets.
