Report of Workshop on Creative Writing held by Readers Club on 6th Dec.2019

A workshop on creative writing was conducted by the Readers’ and Writers’ Club of St Thomas’ College, Thrissur, in collaboration with the college’s IQAC. It was a one-day workshop focused on short story writing for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Kerala. Selected students from all across the state participated in the workshop, lead by Mr V H Nishad, writer and Assistant Professor, Sir Syed College, Kannur and Ms N G Nayantara, sub-editor, Kerala Sahitya Akademi, Thrissur. The programme inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Varghese Kuthur, executive manager, St Thomas’ College, was presided over by Dr K l Joy, Principal, St Thomas’ College. DrViju M J, co-ordinator, Readers’ Club, welcomed the gathering and Rev Dr. SrAlphonsa, IQAC representative, gave felicitations. Mr N V Nishad and Ms N G Nayantara gave the keynote address where both highlighted the current condition of reading and how books have turned out to be decorations for the generation. The inaugural function was concluded by a vote of thanks by DrShyamSudhakar, co-ordinator, Writers’ Club.The workshop proceeded thereafter till 4 pm, ensuring maximum fruitful interaction with the participants. The workshop sharpened the pens of the aspiring writers. It is praiseworthy that an IQAC of a college has taken such an action towards the creative development of the students.
