International Conference at St. Thomas College, Thrissur
The Research and Development Cell of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur organized an International Conference on Transformative Multidisciplinary Research- 2025 (ICTMR-2025). The theme of the conference was ‘Green, Clean and Sustainable Future’. Dr. P Raveendran, Vice-Chancellor, University of Calicut inaugurated the conference. He applauded the college as one of the leading colleges in research activities under the aegis of University of Calicut. He also emphasized that the theme of this year’s conference was both timely and significant, addressing the pressing need for sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Dr. Sabu A, Member Secretary, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) delivered the keynote address on transformative research. Dr. Sabu pointed out that transformative research is inevitable for scientific development and societal betterment. He encouraged the research community to build collaborations across different disciplines and institutes to enhance research output. Rev. Dr. Martin K A (Principal), Rev. Fr. Biju Panengaden (Executive manager), Dr. Joyce Jose (Dean of Research), Dr. Viju M J (Joint coordinator of the Research Council) and Dr. Jency Thomas (Convener, ICTMR-2025) also addressed the gathering. The conference includes talks by eminent academicians such as Dr. Justin James and Dr. Maha Al-Anqoudi from University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Sajish Mathew, University of South Carolina, US, Dr. V. K. Karthika, NIT, Tiruchirappalli & Dr. V Venugopal, former Scientistic from BARC, Mumbai. During the conference, meritorious researchers were awarded Santhome Research Awards and there were paper presentations by researchers on theme areas such as conversations on sustainability; sustainable urbanization and resilient economies; green and clean technology. The two day conference will be followed by Samavaya – the annual research scholars meet on Saturday (8th February).
