ED club conducted an industrial visit for its members on 9th February 2019 to Development Plot (Industrial Estate) Ernakulam. The main purposeof this industrial visit was to organise an opportunity for the members to have closer look of how an industry works. 42 Club members along with club coordinators Prof. SINDHU GEORGE, Prof. JILNA JOHN, Prof. JOBY SEBASTIAN and Prof. GLORIA JOSE participated in this one day industrial visit. The group reached the destination at 10:00am and visited three units in Industrial Development Plot.
“GOLDSUN PAINTS” was the 1st Industry visited by club members. Students got an opportunity to study the working of economical and good quality paints and epoxy flooring materials in factory. The manager Mr. Sajigive a brief outline about the production, turnover, finance etc… of the industry. For a student, it was different experience to watch the paint making process.
Next, the group visited “METAL COATS” at K.D Plot P.O South Kalamassery, Cochin. The metal coatingsteps like galvanizing, power coating and all types of metal finishing works were carried out there. It was really interesting to all club members to find out the hardworking behind every process.
And the last visit was “GEMPAC” the Sam Packaging Innovations Pvt. Ltd at Kalamassery. Different packaging technology and a group of specialist technocrats with proven skills in the field of packaging technology was visible over there. Interactive sections between students and technicians were really knowledge gaining. It was really a live experience for all club members and also a chance to learn more about the new things.
