CRIMINOLOGY AND POLICE SCIENCE
An inspiring and demanding programme, first of its kind in the entire state, the Department of Criminology & Police Science was established in July 2019. The department offers a three-year Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Police Science program with the aim of mentoring young minds about the impact of crime on society. Students will explore the role that the state/criminal law plays in regulating human behaviour and how criminal justice interventions contribute to the development of a safe society.
The program emphasizes a multi-disciplinary approach and introduce students to a variety of applied sciences that are of practical value, including knowledge of functional aspects of controlling crime, the structure of the courts, and the evidence underlying the various charges. It blends the disciplines of law and neuroscience to develop a liberal arts perspective on the subject of criminal justice. Further the course encourages research on these processes, the underlying theoretical perspectives and the contemporary issues and controversies in Criminal Justice system and causal factors of crime.
