
Department of Commerce (SF) of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, organized , “Commergence – One-Day National Seminar” on August 10, 2026 at Kaviprathibha Hall, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), Thrissur Chapter. The seminar focused on the theme “Market Volatility as an Opportunity”, bringing together subject experts, academicians, research scholars, and students for insightful discussions and exchange of ideas. The programme presided by Principal Dr. Fr. Martin K.A,was inaugurated by CMA Vinod T.V., Chairman, ICMAI,Thrissur Chapter.CMA Sugunan T.G., CFO, BrahMos Aerospace, Trivandrum, served as the key resource person. Sessions were conducted by Associate Professor Dr. G. John,HOD,Dept. of Commerce ,St.Joseph’s College(Autonomous),Trichy and Assistant Professor Dr. Urmila R. Menon, Christ University, Bangalore exploring various dimensions of financial and economic volatility. Papers covering diverse dimensions of the theme were presented. CMA Jeswin Johnson, Deputy Manager CSB Bank Thrissur ,secured first position, while Ardra K.S. and Nida Fathima P.K., B.Com second-year students, secured second position for their presentations. Under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Linni Wilson (H.O.D), Asst. Prof. Delma Pulikkottil D and Asst. Prof. Nimitha T.M served as faculty coordinators, while Gouri E and Ignatius Pius served as student coordinators.
