Application Procedure
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements of University of Calicut, Govt. of Kerala and rules and regulations of St. Thomas’ College (Autonomous) Thrissur-1.
Every year Prospectus and Admission Schedule are available only at the College Website. Submission of the Application should be only through the link available in the website. (https://www.stthomas.ac.in).
Applicants must read the Prospectus available in the college website carefully before filling up the Application Form.
Candidate must have a valid email ID. If he/she does not have an email ID, create one and test the same.
All correspondence regarding the admission process will be communicated to this E-mail ID / SMS only.
A scanned copy of his/her passport size photo (must be of within 6 months) having the size of 150pxl x 200pxl and signature.
Keep photocopies of the SSLC / HSE / Degree/Equivalent Certificate / Grade card / Mark lists.
There are separate application procedure for UG and PG.
Visit College Website (https://www.stthomas.ac.in) and click ‘Admission’ link.
New user – click the Register button (already registered students give the email id and password for editing or printing the Application Form).
New user – after filling up the logging details (NAME, EMAIL ID, PHONE NO., DOB & Category) – will get the password through his/her email id. Use this password for further login process.
After login you will get the application fee payment method window. There are two options to the payment – 1. Online Payment 2. SIB Chalan. If using Online payment method, applicant can continue to fill up the application form directly. If using SIB Chalan Method, you have to pay the amount to any of the SIB Branch and get a transaction ID from the bank immediately after payment. After 12 to 18 hours only office of the College will get the confirmation of the payment, then the applicant must enter this transaction ID to the application form to continue to fill up.
Upload the scanned copy of the Passport size Photo and signature (the Application will be rejected, if the entries are not correct).
Take the print out of the submitted Application Form and the Chalan payment and keep it for further use. No need to submit the hard copy of the application form to the College Office for the selection. But, after getting the selection, at the time of interview it has to submit the print out of the application form, residence card, and all original certificates.
The submitted Certificates will be returned only after the completion of the Programme or at the time of issuing the TC.
The list of the provisionally selected candidates will be published online according to the rules of the University, Government and the College. Candidates have to remit the fee stipulated by the University and the Government for Aided and the Self-Financing Programmes.
Trial rank list and provisional rank list will be published in the college website only. Selected applicants both in all merit and waiting list will get the E-mail and SMS.
Generally the last date of submission of application form will be 15 day after the declaration of results of HSE and Degree results of University of Calicut (Regular stream) for UG and PG respectively.
Application amount overpaid will not be refunded. § Incomplete application will be rejected.
Eligibility Criteria
BA Economics / English & History (Double Main)
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission.
B.Sc. Computer Science
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto and have studied Mathematics / Computer Science / Computer Applications at HSE level are eligible for admission.
B.Sc. Chemistry/Physics
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Science subject are eligible.
B.Sc. Mathematics
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Mathematics subject are eligible. For B.Sc. Maths, the candidates should have studied atleast one Maths paper for +2 programme.
BSc Statistics
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Mathematics group are eligible. Candidates who have studied Mathematics/Statistics etc with other combination at HSE level are also eligible for admission.
B.Sc. Botany/Zoology
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Biology as a compulsory paper
BSc Electronics
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Electronics/Physics/Mathematics as one of the optional subjects are eligible. In the case of B.Sc. Electronics even if the student has studied an allied paper in electronics for VHSE, the student will be considered for admission.
B.C.A. Computer Application
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Mathematics/ Computer Science / Computer Application / Information Practices as one of the subjects eligible for admissions to BCA courses.
BBA
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination thereto, with not less than 50% is eligible for admissions. A concession of 3 GPV will be given to OBC/OEC candidates. The SC/ ST candidates need get only a pass.
B Com
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination, is the eligibility for admissions to the B.Com. Degree course. Candidates who have not take atleast one Commerce subject for Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination should get atleast 45% (in 6 subjects) in that examination to become eligible. A concession of 3 GPV will be given to OBC/ OEC candidates. The SC/ST candidates need get only a pass.
BA Visual Communication/ BA Multimedia
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with not less than 45% marks in aggregate shall be eligible for admission.
BA Criminology and Police Science
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with not less than 45% marks in aggregate shall be eligible for admission.
M Sc
The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in the concerned core subject excluding complementaries at the B.Sc. Degree examination.
MA/M Com
The minimum marks prescribed for admission is 45% in the concerned core subjects
MSW
Any UG Degree with 50 % aggregate marks excluding the marks for part II Second Language. Selection to MSW will be based on qualifying examination marks, entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.
MA English
Any UG Degree with at least 45% of marks for languages (either in Part II or Part III). There will be entrance test conducted for applicants whose core subject is not English
MSc Computer Science
B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.C.A. Degree with at least 50% marks are eligible for the admission. Selection to M.Sc. Computer Science (Aided & Self Financing) will be based on qualifying examination marks & entrance test.
Fee Regulations
The statement of the fees is as per the rules and regulations of the University. The amount of the fee is subject to change as per the decisions of the University of Calicut and Govt. of Kerala. Students are liable to pay the fees as per such changes if any.
