On 08/01/2026, the Department of Social Work, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, conducted an observation visit and organized a cultural programme at the High Security Prison, Viyyur, as part of the Nirakoot – Jail Welfare Day celebration. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Bibin, Jail Welfare Officer, High Security Prison, Viyyur. Second semester and fourth semester social work trainees actively participated by conducting various cultural and interactive activities aimed at engaging inmates in meaningful ways. These activities promoted positive social interaction, emotional expression, and overall well-being among the inmates.
