Department of Political Science and National Cadet Corps in association with IQAC organized a webinar on Pandemic as the Site of Exception: Constitutional Readings on Migrant Rights in India on 19 January, 2021 at 10.00 1m. Dr. M V Bijulal, Assistant Professor , Chairman, Centre for West Asian Studies, SIRP, M G University, Kottayam was the resource person. 111 students participated in the webinar. Ms. Blessy Paul C, Head, Department of Political Science welcomed the gathering and Lt.Sabu A S, NCC Officer proposed vote of thanks. Our resource person remarked that the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown crisis have had an untold impact on migrant labourers and informal workers and highlighted the lack of compassion from the Union government and its overall laxity in providing relief to the poor. The pandemic has created a socio-economic condition unexpected for regimes ready to crop hard-earned rights of workers and the vulnerable. This ruthless attack on democratic and constitutional rights is ominous.
