The Association of the Retired Staff of the St. Thomas College, Thrissur, is the first organisation of its kind in Kerala. It was as a result of the initiative taken by a few former teachers of the institution that the Association of the Retired staff, teaching and non-teaching, came into being on 10-4-1999. The organisation is mainly intended to provide persons, who have worked long under the same roof, with the opportunity of meeting twice or thrice a year for chit-chat and the maintenance of the relationship among them. The other objectives are to extend necessary help to the members in times of distress and to co-operate with the management of the College for its smooth running and further expansion. At present the Association has 120 members. Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy, Archbishop of Thrissur, formally inaugurated the Association on 23rd August, 2000. On the same day a Directory of the members was released by Rt. Rev. James Pazhayattil, Bishop of Irinjalakuda.
