Onam Quiz: 27-08-2020

The Quiz Club of St. Thomas’ College, Thrissur had conducted an Online Quiz in connection with Onam 2020 on 27th August 2020. Quiz was conducted using Google form. 117 students took part in the competition. Participants who scored more than 60% had been awarded e- certificate.

Quarantine Quiz: 29-04-2020 to 05-05-2020

During the lockdown initiated as a precautionary measure by the central government to prevent the covid 19 disease, the quiz club of the St Thomas College had conducted an online quiz competition named “Quarantine Quiz”. The quiz was conducted to raise an awareness on Covid 19 Pandemic as well as to attract more people to the world of quizzing. The quiz was open for 7 days from the period of April 29th to May 5th. The quiz was closed on evening of the 5th of May and recorded 389 participations and out of which 290 had scored 60% or more and all of those have been issued a digital certificate. The participants were mostly from different part of Kerala including school as well as college students. There was participation from other states colleges such as Madras Christian college Chennai, , Loyola College Chennai, MES Garware college Pune, Hindustan College Coimbatore, NMMC college Tamil Nadu, Mount Carmel college Bengaluru, and Institute of forensic science, Nagpur. The quiz also had an international participant from University of Northampton, England.

MBIFL Literary Quiz: 13-01-2020

In connection with Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters 2020 (MBIFL’20) a literary quiz was conducted at St Thomas’ college, Thrissur on 13th Jan 2020. 7 teams participated in the event, as the event is restricted to 7 teams.

Quiz on Indian Constitution: 21-12-2019 

Indian constitution is the world’s longest written constitution which provides an excellent framework for governing the world’s largest democracy. Quiz club had conducted an open quiz on constitution in order to create awareness amongst the students about the constitution and its special features on 21-12-2019 in an open quiz format.  Mr. Mestin P.C., Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce was the quiz master. Students from various institutions participated in the event.

Q League Campus Edition Thrissur First Leg:07-11-2019

 Q League campus edition was held in nine districts in Kerala. The First Leg of Thrissur edition was conducted by St. Thomas college quiz club in collaboration with Fortune IAS academy. 34 teams from various colleges participated in the event.

Cricket quiz: 12-07-2019

In association with 2019 Cricket World Cup, quiz club of St Thomas’ college, Thrissur had conducted an intra college cricket quiz competition on July 12, 2019. 66 teams participated in the competition with each team consisting of 2 members each. The first and second prize winners were awarded Rs 2000/- and Rs 1000/- respectively. Mr. Saleel Ahmed V., (Fifth Semester B.Sc Mathematics student)  was the quiz master.

Weekly Quizzes: November 2018

Quiz Club conducts weekly quiz with a motto of expanding a student’s knowledge and exploring new skills at an early age besides the obvious academic benefits. The first weekly quiz was conducted on 9th nov 2018 at Menachery Hall. The quiz was conducted on the current affairs of that particular week. There were total of 41 teams consisting of 2 participants from various college participated for the event. The Second Weekly quiz was conducted on 16th nov 2018 at Menachery Hall to help your students practise existing knowledge while stimulating interest in learning about new subject matter. The weekly quiz allow students to have an intensive knowledge of the current affairs of that particular week. 43 teams participated in the event.

Informal Quizzes: 18-08-2018

An intra Collegiate Quiz Competition titled Informal Quiz was conducted by Quiz Club on 18-08-2018. This competition covered a wide range of topics and helped students to enhance their knowledge in those areas.42 teams took part in the competition. There was no registration. No certificates. Students themselves performed as quiz masters.

Soccer quiz: 10-07-2018

In connection with 2018 FIFA world cup tournament, Quiz club conducted Soccer Quiz 2018 on 10-07-2018 exclusively for the students of St Thomas’ college, Thrissur. Mr. Nithin Jose was the quiz master. 89 teams participated in the competition with each team consisting of 2 members each.

Mamankam 2k18 (GK and current affairs quiz): 19-02-2018

Mamankam 2k18(GK and current affairs quiz) was conducted to test students’ ability to be abreast of what is happening in the world and help students to enhance their knowledge in Gk and current affairs on 19-02-2018. Nithin Jose and Mridhul were the Quiz masters. 22 teams participated in the competition with each team consisting of 2 members each. The first, second and third prize winners were awarded Rs 2000/-, Rs 1000/- and Rs 500/- respectively.

Freedom Quiz: 16-08-2017

In connection with Independence Day, an intra collegiate Quiz competition named “Freedom Quiz” was conducted by Quiz Club of ST Thomas’ college, Thrissur on 16.08.2017 in order to create patriotic feelings among the students and to make them aware the hardship through with our fore-fathers travelled in order to gain Freedom. A total of 20 teams took part in the competition. The first, second and third prize winners were awarded Rs 1000/-, Rs 500/- and

Rs 300/- respectively.

Freedom struggle Quiz: 30-01-2017

In connection with Martyr’s Day or Shaheed Diwas and the Death Anniversary of The Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Quiz club of ST Thomas’ college, Thrissur had conducted Freedom struggle Quiz on 30-01-2017 to honor our brave martyrs who have laid down their lives for the country exclusively for the students of St Thomas’ College. There were total of 12 teams who participated in the quiz.

Olympics Quiz: 06-09-2016

“Olympics Quiz” was conducted on 6th September, 2016 exclusively for the students of St Thomas’s College under the co-ordination of Dr. Viji M, Dept of Mathematics. There were total of 43 teams consisting of 2 students per team (not necessarily from same department). The first, second and third prize winners were awarded Rs 1000/-, Rs 500/- and Rs 300/- respectively.

Inter Collegiate General Quiz: 15-02-2016

An inter Collegiate General Quiz Competition was conducted by Quiz Club of ST Thomas’ college, Thrissur in collaboration with Sopaanam Charitable trust on 15th February, 2016. There were total of 32 teams consisting of 2 participants from various college participated for the event. The competition was held at two phases. After the preliminary round, six teams out of 32 were selected for the final round. The first, second and third prize winners were awarded Rs 10000/-, Rs 6000/- and Rs 4000/- respectively along with the certificates.
